What I Do

Parts and assembly design

Complete 3D CAD modeling in SOLIDWORKS. From individual components to complex assemblies with hundreds of parts.

Technical drawings

ISO-compliant manufacturing documentation. Detail drawings, assemblies, exploded views, and bills of materials.

2D to 3D conversion

Conversion of legacy drawings or sketches into editable parametric 3D models.

Reverse engineering

Recreation of existing undocumented parts. Measurement, modeling, and drawing generation.

Parametric design

Configurable models that adapt automatically. Design tables and configurations for product families.

CAD automation

Macros and tools to speed up repetitive processes in SOLIDWORKS.

How I Work

Two ways to collaborate depending on your needs. The goal is the same: delivering files ready for manufacturing.

Hourly rate

For projects with variable scope or ongoing technical support. I bill actual time spent with weekly reports.

  • Flexibility to adjust scope as you go
  • Ideal for long-term collaborations
  • Weekly time reports for your validation

Fixed price

When the scope is well-defined from the start. Fixed budget agreed before beginning.

  • Fixed price agreed before starting
  • Revisions included in the budget
  • Delivery within agreed timeline

Estimated timelines

Simple parts: 3-5 days
Assemblies: 7-20 days
With drawings: +5-10 days

30-day warranty

Free correction of any errors attributable to my work after delivery

Delivery formats

About

I'm Unai Pz. de A., a mechanical engineer specializing in industrial CAD design with SOLIDWORKS.

My background combines design and technical support. I've worked as a mechanical designer at Ulma Handling Systems (automated warehouse machinery) and at Nabla Wind Hub (wind farm life extension analysis). I also worked as a SOLIDWORKS technical support engineer at Solid-bi, an authorized Dassault Systemes distributor.

That experience on both sides — designing for manufacturing and solving software technical issues — is the foundation of how I work today.

Frequently asked questions

What file formats do you deliver?

Native SOLIDWORKS files (.sldprt, .sldasm, .slddrw), STEP for universal compatibility, and PDF for drawings. Other formats available upon request.

How long does a project take?

Depends on complexity. Simple parts: 3-5 days. Medium assemblies: 7-15 days. Complex projects with drawings: 20-30 days. Exact timeline confirmed in the quote.

Can I see progress during the project?

Yes. Hourly projects include weekly reports. Fixed-price projects have agreed review milestones to validate the 3D model before moving to drawings.

What if I need changes after delivery?

Fixed-price projects include revisions. Errors on my end are corrected free of charge within 30 days. Additional changes are billed based on time spent.

Do you work with international clients?

Yes. I work remote-first with clients worldwide. Communication via email, video calls, or your preferred platform. On-site meetings available in the Bilbao area (Spain).

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. If your project requires it, I can sign an NDA before starting. Confidentiality of your designs is guaranteed in any case.
